I'm not positive that I'm right, I wasn't that interested, but if you look at the Labour parties manifesto before coming to power, they said that there would be NO MORE TAXES!!! Of course not, no they've just increased the ones we are already paying. How much has the tax on fuel gone up since they came into power?
Now why have they done this? Simple, to drive everyone who has to pay for their own petrol of the roads. Why do that? So that they use public transport. Public transport won't be able to cope, so they can privatise it. The problem with that is, if you look at how many people commute to a city like Edinburgh, you wouldn't be able to fit them all on to buses, and fit all the buses in the city. My problem with using public transport to travel to work is that I would have to leave two hours early, and get home two hours late. For twenty five miles each way... RAM THAT where the sun don't shine!!

The problem with pushing up fuel prices is that we are all hit twice, not just at the fuel pumps with our own car, but also when we shop. Yes a double whammy as everything that is transported by UK based transport firms has it's price hiked up to pay transport charges that include the EXORBITANT cost of diesel. I'm not even going to look at the other charges they have to pay. It all amounts to the Government getting tax in two way.
